Yep - the three time locations are there on all stereo versions (Smash Hits, AYE?, etc.) - even the new legacy edition.:( Good news tho, all the mono versions are clean! (the Japanese one is really smooth):) I think the mono's are probably a different take/mix, as there are a few subtle differences in Jimi's vocals as well. Thank you Marcos- at least i know the issue was my disc or downloaded a bad file. It just seems to me that EH could clean that static up- maybe they dont have the master tapes- but even still- Kramer should be able to handle the minor clean up. EH dosent care- just like when then put the Fehmarn cd out originally which had too fast play speed issue. He is particularly experienced in providing quick. Are the ones you checked DL's or the actual vinyl or CD? I have a couple of vinyl and CD issues in front of me but none of the original Track or Barclay to hand. I'll take a listen to these but they are all EH issues either Legacy or MCA (Universal). All the following are from vinyl transfers except the P20P: This is an issue as they are probably cleaned so really we need to check original only. Appears to a mono copy. No noise but I need to check why I have the incorrct art for this disc. I have an original mono pressing of this LP but not a Japanese stereo pressing. DL'ing it now.. The Mono's are definitely different mixes on most of the trax.. My personal fave was always the Stereo vs Mono 'May This Be Love' one of the most beautiful pieces he EVER wrote. On the Stereo Reprise/Track version, at [approx] 57 secs, right after 'My Waterfall' & B4 the bridge, you can hear Jimi Turning a page [under ear goggles] while doing the Lead vocal track. On the Mono Track & the Reprise Mono versions, the paper noise is gone..;) Just remembering some old shit most of U already know about. I'll bet there's probably enough differences in the released: Mono/Stereo versions to add a new thread of its own on the subject. Might be fun.:) I know I keep learning little things I never knew about till recently.. Happy Holidays! Thanx M:homer1. Here's another quickie.. On the AYE LP, in the middle of the Stereo Foxy Lady, after the last feedback fill, Jimi whispers 'Here I come Baby, I'm comin' to git cha', as the band wends its way into the final Outro.. On the Track MONO version, for some reason, they cut out the 'Here I come Baby', and he just says 'I'm comin' to git cha', at precisely the right time. I'm sure it's the exact same vocal track. It's just that 'somebody' decided to mix the 1st phrase out, possibly to cater to a different audience?? At any rate, that line is missing & it's interesting to me why they mixed that line out.. I think there were alot of other differences on other tracks as well. On ONE side of the mix!? FF - I'm not quite sure I know what UR askin'. We were referring 2 the Mono Mix which of course means.. U know.... No sides - ya? As far as the Stereo mix, it happens 2 B on the right side...:) Marcos, now that I pulled the ol' girl out, they didn't even let him say 'I'm comin' 2 get cha'. Pretty distinctive -now. In fact, they almost pulled out the 'C' also. Like somebody got distracted..? U can actually hear somebody pull the fader up, barely catching the 'C' and all you hear is the 'Comin' to get cha'. Also wierd having it as the 1st tune on the LP. But understandable just the same.
